Wow, could the NFL ask for a better situation for the AFC playoff race? 12 teams are still in the hunt for a 2009-10 NFL postseason bid as we see 6 teams listed below with 7-7 records. The AFC playoff picture continues to evolve each week due to huge upsets that blow up any chance of getting a clear picture of who is actually a playoff bound team. Who would have thought that Oakland would upset the Broncos in week 15? I love to pick upset winners, but I absolutely did not see that one coming.
The Bengals continue to falter as they are now 9-5 and in danger of losing their AFC North division lead to the Ravens. Just 3 weeks ago, this looked like an impossible undertaking considering that the Bengals defeated the Ravens both times they met this season. All the Bengals have to do is win 1 of their final 2 games against the Chiefs or Jets and they will clinch the AFC North. If the Bengals lose both games and the Ravens win out, Baltimore takes the division crown.
