The 2009-10 BCS Bowl game schedule is loaded with great match-ups! I think the average football bettor will be surprised at some of the betting lines for the BCS bowl games at first glance. TCU is an 8 point favorite over Boise State. The inconsistent Oregon Ducks are 3.5 point favorites over Ohio State. The most surprising point spread may be Alabama only being a 5 point favorite over Texas. Texas looked awful against Nebraska and I think the online sportbooks are looking to lure a lot of money on Alabama in hopes that Texas covers the spread.

what does the +5 / -5 mean on the alabama texas mean? Im a noob at this sorry!
Alabama is -5 points and Texas is +5 points for the point spread of the game.
it means that the most likely scenario would be that texas would lose by 5 points to alabama. from that, you get to choose if they will lose by more than that or less than that aka over, under
